PENCIL TIN

The pencil tin project guides participants through the complete process of designing and making a functional steel pencil tin. The course covers a range of practical skills and techniques, including:

• Creating a digital design using CAD software (Fusion 360).
• Scribing and folding sheet metal on a box press.
• Introduction to TIG welding and assembling the tin.
• Using angle grinders, sanders, and hand-polishing techniques to finish the work.

At the end of the course, each participant produces a finished steel pencil tin, a practical product demonstrating the skills acquired. Over the past three years, more than 300 pencil tins have been completed by students at our workshop!
